DUAL-STAGE WELL-ON-WELL TEST FIXTURES FROM EVERETT CHARLES TECHNOLOGIES

Pomona, CA, October 9, 1995 ... Everett Charles Technologies' Dual-Stage Well-on-Well SuperKit" fixtures are designed with two vacuum wells(probe plates), with independent vacuum connections. The upper well contains a field of unwired spring contact test probes which mate with wired long travel probes in the lower well for functional testing. The lower well also contains a field of spring contact probes wired for in-circuit testing. When vacuum is applied to the upper well, all probes in that well contact the UUT, and the functional test is performed. When vacuum is applied to the lower well, the probes in that well contact the UUT and the in-circuit test is performed. Testing is faster because there is no need to apply and release vacuum twice in each test cycle to accomplish complete combinational testing. Both wells are drilled to identical patterns and the wells are installed on quad-linear alignment bearings, so probe alignment is optimized.
