JOB TITLE: Applications Engineer
I. BASIC FUNCTION
Will identify issues, aid in the enhancement of products, conduct customer training, demonstrate products for sales prospects and provide post sales product support in-house and at customer sites.
II. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or have an equivalent combination of education and experience in the bare PCB test industry.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Field Service personnel in developing training agendas and tools.
- Prepare technical manuals.
- Maintain records according to ISO 9000 guidelines.
- Work with Field Service to troubleshoot problems and directly interact with software development.
IV. STANDARD MANUFACTURING REQUIREMENTS
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess strong written/verbal skills. Ability to handle all development levels including concept, architecture, design, release, customer interface, etc.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
A successful candidate will have a mathematics background in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. Ability to use and understand the following base numbering systems: binary(2), octal(8), and hexadecimal(16).
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This postions requires extensive travel. Between 60 and 70 percent of the time is spent on travel at customer sites and/or at tradeshows for support.
